Paul is a barrister specialising in family finance law. He was called to the Bar of England and Wales by the Inner Temple in July 1980 and has been in independent practice as a barrister since then. He now practices from 36 Group’s chambers at 4 Field Court, Gray’s Inn, London, WC1R 5EF (DX: LDE 360).
He has conducted cases at every level of court including the Supreme Court, the House of Lords and the Privy Council. His practice has taken him all over the world.
He is:
- Qualified to accept work directly from members of the public under the Bar’s Public Access scheme.
- A mediator
- A family arbitrator
- A member of the Duke Corporate Education Non-Traditional Global Learning Resource Network, for whom he has conducted executive training in the UK, Europe, the Middle East and India.
Paul was educated at Haberdashers’ Aske’s School, Elstree, and The Peddie School, Hightstown, New Jersey, USA (English Speaking Union Schoolboy Scholar) before reading Law at Sheffield University (LLB).
In addition to this work he has an interest in the law of harassment and stalking. He was a trustee of the Suzy Lamplugh Trust for many year (and its chairman for 6 years) and has written books and articles and has broadcast and lectured extensively on this subject.
He is now a trustee of Evolve Housing+Support, a charity which cares for the homeless in south London, the London HIV Chaplaincy and the South London Liberal Synagogue.
He is the co-author of ‘The Law of Harassment and Stalking’ (Butterworths, 2000) and a contributor to ‘Stalking and Psychosexual Obsession’ (John Wiley, 1997).
